Bourne & Hollingsworth

Adorable little bar near Tottenham Court Rd, Bourne & Hollingsworth serves its drinks and cocktails in Jam jars, tea cups and my favourite tin camping mugs, which took me back to family camping trips we used to go on...

Anyway I digress, on the night we went it was a rare stinking hot night in London and the little basement bar was suffering in the heat with most patrons including us heading upstairs to drink on the street, but on a regular London night this little bar would be quite cozy and warm...

Cocktails weren't too $$ either and they were yummo! Oh Sydney where is our little bar like Bourne and Hollingsworth? I'm on the lookout!

Tom's Kitchen

Located in Chelsea, I had been wanting to try this local eatery since I first moved to London but never got around to it...

This time round I made an effort to give it a try... Met my friend Colleen there for brunch on Sunday, had a semi-typical bacon and eggs... And it was nice, but it wasn't as wow as I was expecting, the sides were standard and presentation boring...

But if you're a local it would be worth the visit as the restaurant has a nice feel to it, but don't make the journey across the city, as you would probably find just as good fare in your borough!

Nopi

From the creators that brought us Ottelunghi, Nopi is their newest restaurant offering....

Located in Soho, this big sister eatery, offers dinners Ottelunghi style food all grown up!

The menu consists of dishes to be shared and is broken down into vegetables, seafood, meat and dessert! Servings are small again and prices high, but each dish packs a punch and we found ourselves wiping the plates clean with our bread to savour every last morsel!

On the ground floor diners sit at individual tables, while downstairs there is a communal table overlooking the open kitchen.

Also liked the complimentary still or sparking water and bread with olive oil and dips! Nice touch when the meals are already $$$!

Really pretty interior and ambiance plus delicious food- give Nopi a try!

Ottelunghi

Mmm, mmm, mmmmm! Love this place and the Islington branch is my favourite! It's hard to even walk by this upmarket cafe, when the window is overflowing with delicious baked goodies, including massive meringues, chocolate brownies, Bailey's chocolate cake... Then when you peek a bit further there is a massive counter with delicious fresh salads piled sky high!

Now it's not cheap and the servings err on the smaller side, but it is fresh and delicious!

Most often you'll be seated at the long communal table but there are the few individual tables squeezed in too... expect to wait as this eatery is packed from opening to close and they don't take reservations!
